The Chicago shopkeeper demonstrates how to mix it up
Some people are born collectors. Take Luxury Garage Sale’s Lindsay Segal for example. After stints at Style.com and Bloomingdale’s where she indulged her closet-bursting love of fashion and interiors respectively, she put her passion to good use, partnering with her childhood friend Brielle Buchberg to open their upscale consignment boutique in Chicago’s Old Town neighborhood. There Segal’s passion for collecting clothing, vintage jewelry and accessories found a revolving door, and kept her husband Lou sane in the process. “He still has to deal with my many home obsessions, zebra prints and a serious Kelly Wearstler addiction as of late, but the closets are much better,” she laughs. Thanks to a steady stream of pop-up shops and marketing savvy, the duo have launched e-commerce and a new Dallas, TX location is in the works as well.
When it comes to her personal style, Segal takes her cues from the fashion set including advance style it gal Iris Apfel, and stylist Rachel Zoe, layering classics with vintage finds and serious statement jewelry. “I love mixing high and low,” says Segal.
Lindsay’s Style Advice:
“Love it! I see so many women with closets full of pieces with the tags still one them. Every piece should tell a story about who you are or serve a purpose. Choose wisely.”
